Finance Director, Greater China

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor business performance in the Greater China regions and provide proactive, independent, commercial and practical advice to drive for continuous enhancement

  • Acting as the key contact point between the business and regional finance team to provide advisory to our leaders from a financial perspective in order to support key commercial decisions

  • Partnering with the business to provide timely and comprehensive annual budgets as well as periodical forecasts

  • Facilitate the business to ensure key operational, commercial and financial KPIs are met/exceed

  • Responsible to prepare and present financial performance on regular basis, including periodic forecasts and budget variances

  • Responsible to ensure our business within the region are compliant with Group finance, internal control policies and local regulatory requirements

  • Lead, coach and motivate junior finance team members and ensure all objectives/development plan are clearly set for cascade down at the beginning of the year with regular review/feedback mechanism in place

  • Occasional business travel in the regions is required


Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or related discipline, along with minimum 10 years’ of relevant working experience preferably gained through reputable professional services or financial services firms

  • CPA or CIMA qualified would be a distinct advantage

  • Strong communication, stakeholder management skills and influencing skills

  • Able to work in a multi-faceted environment and sensitive to divisional business issues

  • Methodical with strong analytical skills; ability to interpret and summarise complex information for onward communication to internal key stakeholders and externally as may be required

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and display emotional resilience

  • Collaborative, strong team-player with demonstrable experience in working within a dynamic organisation and able to build bridges between the different stakeholders within the organisation, division and locations

  • Exceptional attention to details and strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent people management skills able to lead and motivate juniors

  • Direct China operation experience especially in dealing with regulators, local authorities and banks would be an advantage.

  • Experience in change management, from idea inception to fully implementing changes proposed would be a distinct advantage.
